Invitation to attend the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence Workshop - Regarding the Local Control and Accountability Plan

Dear Parents/Guardians & Community Members,

Superintendent Dr. Patrick Hefflin would like to invite you to join her in participating in the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence Spring Workshop on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina, 1380 Harbor Island Drive, San Diego, CA 92101.

The California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE) is hosting a Spring 2017 Workshop focused on the relationship between two tools: the California School Dashboard (formerly known as the LCFF Evaluation Rubrics) and the Local Control & Accountability Plan (LCAP) Template. These workshops are open to ALL audiences - parents/guardians, students, community members, and other local stakeholders as well as superintendents, board members, principals, teachers, and classified staff.

CCEE staff will share the most current information about both the Dashboard and the LCAP Template, along with considerations for how practitioners may choose to use them individually and together to advance local improvement efforts. Workshop participants will also engage in breakout sessions to collaborate with colleagues and delve deeper into topics of interest.

The workshop is designed for teams coming from the same school district, charter school, or other education-focused organization. However, individuals not part of a team are more than welcome and encouraged to attend as well.

Julian Union High School District Applies for ASSETs Funding

October 10, 2016

The Julian Union High School District (JUHSD) notifies the community of its intent to apply for funding under the 21st Century After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens program (ASSETs).  The purpose of the funding is to create incentives for establishing locally driven after-school enrichment programs for high school students in the hours after the regular school day, and support college and career readiness.  JUHSD’s application represents a consortium of 17 county high schools which meet the funding eligibility requirements.

If awarded funding, the JUHSD will disseminate information about the 21st Century High School ASSETs program in a manner that clearly states our goals with information posted on our website and announced through local news resources.  We invite comments and partnerships as we work to improve the services offered to our students through quality expanded learning programs.

This announcement serves as a public notice of our intent to apply.
